The Assembly Was a Mess

"We got the "Cape Cod Ultimate" chair after we had a "Cape Cod Standard" chair. To our surprised the Ultimate was more put together coming out of the box, a welcomed surprise. However, after reading the instructions we noticed that there were 2 bolts, 2 nuts, and 2 screws (not even listed in the directions) missing from our hardware bag. After further inspection of the chair we realized that they had already done part of the directions for us. This is where the 2 bolts and 2 nuts were hiding, but they were on backwards so the bottom extension part that would come out to hold your feet fully came out. I needed to undo their work and fix it myself. After fixing this, I found that the bolts were to long and then stopped the bottom section from even coming out. Either they did not router the groove deep enough or they gave us bolts that are to long. Please see image 2. We are still missing the screws to attach the two legs at the bottom. We put in a request for more hardware but expecting to not get the correct hardware once again after this experience."

Ultimate is Less

"This chair was easy to assemble and seems "OK" but the quality does not compare to the standard Cape Cod Adirondack chair - it's lower to the ground and less comfortable and seems less sturdy. I regret buying the "ultimate" chair and which I had gone with just regular, instead. . ."

Poor quality control

"We bought a pair of Trex cape cod ultimate Adirondack chairs from an Oklahoma City furniture store. One chair had a couple of screws missing which I had to replace myself. This could have have been dismissed as a “one off” but the second chair was missing screws as well and inserts for front leg bolts are missing which make the chair useless until I can find replacement parts. Trex needs to do a better job of inspecting products before shipping."

Versatile and inviting

"We ordered these because of the terrific combination of both an ottoman and chair. They have not disappointed! However, my 6'3" husband can't easily extract himself from the chair when the ottoman section is extended; otherwise, we would have given these chairs 5 stars."

I have two of these

"I have two of these chairs with the built in extensions, very beautiful and comfortable. Wish there were padded seats and backs available to purchase. One potential concern (I am not huge): after sitting on one for a bit, the slats on the seat have a bow/sag in them. COncern is longer-term they may pull away from the rails, the screws holding them in."

Do darker chair colors get hotter in the sun?
