Trex Outdoor Furniture products are built with Genuine POLYWOOD™ lumber, a proprietary material made of reusable and recyclable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastics.
Genuine POLYWOOD™ lumber is made from HDPE plastic and does not contain wood or any natural fibers.
No, the color runs throughout the HDPE lumber material, not just the surface.
Yes! Light-stable pigments, UV inhibitors, and other protectants are blended into the lumber, protecting it against fading and sun damage.
Trex Outdoor Furniture cushions and pillows are hand-sewn from outdoor performance fabric that resists fading, stains, moisture, mold, and mildew. The inner filling is a polyester fiber blend.

Maintenance & Care
Our furniture cleans easily with mild soap, water, and a soft-bristle brush.
Visit our Product Care page for detailed cleaning instructions and maintenance tips.
Trex Outdoor Furniture never needs to be painted, stained, or sealed to maintain its appearance. In fact, we advise against it, as painting voids the warranty.

We do not recommend sanding Genuine POLYWOOD™ lumber because that will leave surface scratches and void the warranty.
See our warranty for complete details.
Trex Outdoor Furniture can be pressure-washed. To avoid damage, use a pressure washer rated at 1,500 psi or lower with a 40-degree fan tip wand attachment.
